First Looks are supposed to be a surprise; that moment you knew was coming, but not necessarily the exact moment in time. The use of the phrase “candid shots” may be thrown around frequently, but they are ultimately organic moments. As photographers, we have to set the stage for these occasions to happen. While we may be more cognizant of what is happening, sometimes our subjects get caught off guard – in a good way! Rose and Karl were a breeze to work with and definitely encapsulated the idea of “we are only as good as our clients.” Their fusion ceremony was gorgeous, marked by traditional southeast Asian traditions and culminating in a bustling reception amidst the flowering landscape on Grounds for Sculpture.
