I've always believed that a great portrait doesn't need to be complicated. Sometimes it's about beautiful light, a simple gesture, and an expression that tells you something about the person in front of your camera.
For this high school senior portrait, I wanted the light to do the heavy lifting. The soft background, the elegant black dress, and the way the light falls across her face all work together to create something that feels natural, timeless, and a little sophisticated.
After more than four decades as a professional photographer, I still get excited when the light, the moment, and the person all come together.
Whether I'm photographing a high school senior in Cherry Hill, Haddonfield, or anywhere throughout South Jersey and the Philadelphia area, my goal is the same: create something personal, something beautiful, and most importantly, something that doesn't look like everybody else's senior pictures.
