There’s nothing quite like the iconic view of the Manhattan skyline. Having your wedding at 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge enables you to have some of the most breathtaking views of the NYC skyline that the city has to offer.
Inside, this Brooklyn venue has an incredibly unique feel to it. The chic rooms and hip restaurants provide a trendy feel for visitors looking for something different. The rooftop area where this photo was taken provides views of the Brooklyn Bridge, Manhattan Bridge, and Lower Manhattan.
I’ve shot over one thousand weddings in my career, and I’ve been to hundreds of hotels. 1 Hotel Brooklyn Bridge just felt... different. From their food presentation to the event space, it screamed high-end New York. The entire hotel is environmentally friendly, from the organic apples next to the elevator to the buildings' water-saving system. They even have in-room yoga mats and cozy socks you can take home. To enhance the views, each room has windows that are floor to ceiling in length.
In this image, Jenni and Amir were on the rooftop, and I timed the shot so we’d take it at dusk. This allowed me to balance the flash with the ambient light for the time of day. This image would make a lovely, large print to hang on the couples' wall. I wanted to keep the bridges in the photo, along with the lower Manhattan skyline, so I shot with my Nikon D850 and Nikkor 24-24mm F2.8G lens at 1/25th F3.5 @ ISO 320 to give me the widest field of view.
