Recently, I had a chance to photograph my first Cedar Lakes Estate wedding in Port Jervis New York. The views of the Hudson River Valley at Cedar Lakes Estate are absolutely breathtaking. Everywhere you look, there are gorgeous red-water lakes, cedarwood forests, rolling hills, wildflowers, and wildlife. There is incredible rustic nature to this venue, and my clients searched long and hard for the perfect place before they stumbled onto this spectacular venue.
Originally, Cedar Lakes Estate was used as a summer camp for inner-city youth. The camp also served as a training facility for several gold medal Olympic athletes, as well as world cup soccer players. With such a beautiful setting, it seems only natural that you’d have weddings at Cedar Lakes Estate because of its romantic feel.
I had the pleasure of photographing Taylor and Micheal's wedding at Cedar Lakes Estate in the late summer of 2017. I photographed the bride's sister's wedding a few years back, and I always feel honored when a family allows me another opportunity to work with them.
The rehearsal dinner, held under a huge pavilion with an enormous fire pit, was held on the eve of the wedding event. It was casual, simple, and beautiful, and was the perfect precursor for the wedding day.
