Since Philadelphia is so close to home, I really enjoy photographing weddings in what I consider to be my "hometown."
This event began at the Ritz-Carlton Philadelphia where the bride was getting ready. Her dress was spectacular, and her friends were incredibly excited for her. I really like how the light is pouring in and kissing the faces of the bridesmaids as they gush over her wedding gown. I enjoy utilizing beautiful light for getting ready photos in the bridal suites, and the Penthouse at the Ritz-Carlton Philadelphia is a terrific place to shoot bridal prep.
Shortly after this, the bride slipped into her gown, and she went to see her father for the first time on her wedding day. She went on to get married at St. Augustine’s in Philadelphia, PA. The bridal portraits in Independence National Historical Park were terrific during a gorgeous day in Washington Square Park.
Upon our return to the Kimmel Center for the wedding reception, Garces Catering put out a spectacular spread, and EBE’s LA Starz provided spectacular entertainment as people dances well into the evening.
During the reception, we took a few moments to head outside to Broad Street for a few night photos in front of City Hall, which is an iconic photo I enjoy shooting.
The bride’s father owns all of the P.J. Whelihan's restaurants, and they served the guests on their food trucks late into the night outside the Kimmel Center as the reception ended.
